Once again it was requested that I put my mind to poetry. Here I give to you an Edict Funeral March, in light of recent events.
Edict Funeral March
When comes the darkest hour,
When comes the endless peace?
They fought by death and glory,
By death and glory did they cease.
The Edict will stand, forever strong, a monument of sacrifice.
Hark, do you hear the birds above,
Flying ever gracefully up high?
Hark, do you hear our heroes call,
Calling from the eternal sky?
The Edict will stand, forever strong, a monument of sacrifice.
Do you see the bloodstained earth,
Running crimson in the rain?
Do you see the bodies strewn,
As the lives of our kin drain?
The Edict will stand, forever strong, a monument of sacrifice.
Let not their deaths blind you,
To the glory they have earned.
They fought for us to live on,
In their honour our souls burned.
The Edict will stand, forever strong, because of their great sacrifice.
