The Oath is a sacred tradition of the Crimson Edict. It binds us all as brothers and sisters, sworn to each other in both life and death.
The Oath
Oath of Loyalty
By Krug, Malin, Urguan, and Horen,
By the eternal earth and sky,
By my blade and by my blood,
By my honour and by my life,
I pledge my body and soul to the Edict,
As I do pledge my body and soul to my brothers and sisters in arms.
Officer's Rite
May your blade spill the blood of your foes should you uphold your oath,
And may it likewise spill the blood that runs through you if you should break your oath,
May your shield protect you from all that would harm you should you uphold your oath,
And may it likewise shatter at the touch of a feather should you break your oath,
May your arrows always find their mark should you uphold your oath,
And may your bowstring likewise snap should you break your oath,
May your brothers and sisters always stand beside you should you uphold your oath,
And may they likewise end you should you break your oath.
Assurance of Honour
Do you swear that when you fall it shall be to a worthy foe?
Do you swear that you shall die valiantly?
Do you swear to welcome your brothers and sisters when they join you in the next life?
Do you swear that you will remain forever loyal to your brothers and sisters?
Do you swear to shield them from harm, even if it must be with your own body?
Do you swear that when you die, you shall die with them, side by side?
Do you swear to remain eternally faithful to the Edict now, after death, and until the end of time?
Assurance of Loyalty
I, ((their name)) swear that I shall uphold these terms.
Officer's Acceptance
Rise, ((their name)), rise as a man ((or woman, as the case may warrant)) of the Edict.
